William Mitchell Vance, 92, of Bellefontaine passed away Monday, December 18, 2023.

William was born March 6, 1931, in Bellefontaine, OH to the late Floyd and Ruth (Barnes) Vance. On March 7, 1975, he married Evelyn J. Horn and they were happily married for 42 years.

William was a Korean War veteran and retired from the railroad. He bowled for many years and met Evelyn, the love of his life, while she was working at the bowling alley.  He and Evelyn were avid golfers, spending most days at the golf course in retirement.

William is survived by his son Steven Mitchell (Deborah Ann) Vance and Evelyn's daughter Kimberly Joe Hill. William is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, six siblings, and his parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will follow privately at Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or The American Cancer Society.
