Steven Scott Fairchild, 66 of West Liberty passed away suddenly Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his residence.

Steve was born August 24, 1958 in Bellefontaine to the late Charles Oliver and Mary Hortense (Gaver) Fairchild. On February 4, 1978 he married Doris McMillen, who preceded him in death on June 30, 1985. Steve is also preceded in death by his siblings, Patty (Fairchild) Long, David D. Fairchild, Linda (Fairchild) Clark and John C. Fairchild.

Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping; basically he enjoyed the great outdoors. He also enjoyed men's fast pitch, the Cincinnati Reds and Bengal's and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Steve loved his role at the West Liberty Salem Schools, working in the maintenance department for over 9 years. He loved the work but also loved the staff and kids. Steve would commonly say "It's all for the kids."  He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Beth (Chris) Wing; son, Zach (Kim Langford) Fairchild; grandsons, Dylan Wing, Foster Fairchild and Jason Fairchild; step granddaughter, Paige Wing; many other loving family members.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery of West Liberty following the service on Friday.
