Stephen D. Hanger
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Douglas Hanger, who passed away on 10/27/2026 at the age of 76 at Cedar Haven Nursing Home in Lebanon, PA.
Born on 11/02/1949, raised in Eris, Ohio, Stephen was the beloved son of the late Edward and Lillian (Long) Hanger. On April 28, 2000 he married Darryl L. Mueller, who preceded him in death in 2018. Throughout his life, Stephen was known for his hard work ethic and supporting his family and his love for the Lutheran Church in Russel’s Point, Ohio and his love for his grandchildren.
Stephen graduated from Graham Highschool and went on to serve in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 as a telecommunications officer, retired from Honda of America Mfg., Inc. on 01/31/2014. Some of his favorite memories were taking his son to see the Cincinnati Reds play at Riverfront, gifting his son with his first guitar and going to Nevada for state bowling tournaments with his wife Darryl Hanger. Those who know Stephen will remember him for his hard work, his humor, his love for his family and storytelling. Stephen was amazing telling his own stories of experiences in Vietnam and experiences he’s had throughout his life. He had a great ability to always make you laugh through any type of story.
