Shirley Garnet (Headings) Wenger, 91, passed away Tuesday, August 17th at her home. Shirley was born May 18, 1930, the daughter of Archie and Mary Headings. She was a graduate of De Graff High School.

A lifelong resident of the West Liberty area, she was a home maker as well as an employee of Green Hills for many years. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, teaching her children the skills of life. For many years, family dinners were always at Mom's.

On May 20, 1951, she married Marion Wenger, who preceded her on July 9, 2009. Together they raised eight children.

Survivors include sons Ed (Mel), Cliff (Tami), Rob (Molly), daughters Marie Lawson, Ann (Erwin) Morrow,

Kaleen (Terry) Hamm, Crista (Todd) Lewis and Lisa (Jim) Kauffman, 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, two brothers, Ray Headings and Earl Headings and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Wenger and Norma Jean Wilker, as well as a grandson Darius Popp, great grandson Evan Jordan, and sons in law Mike Lawson, Jeff Shoemaker.

Pastor Matthew Williams will conduct a memorial service at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 23, at South

Union Mennonite Church, 56 State Route 508 West Liberty 43357. A visitation will precede the memorial service from 3:00-5:00 PM at the church.

Shirley's wishes were to donate her body to The Ohio State University Medical Center for scientific research.
