Rudy Eugene Dowdy Sr. 74 of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home, with his family by his side. He was born January 25, 1944 in Bellefontaine to the late Edward Rudolph and Dianna May (Garman) Dowdy. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon St. Clair; and also by his sister and brothers-in-law Irene & Ronald Tudor, William Stevens and Joseph Jackson. Survivors include his loving wife Virginia "Ginger" Yvonne (Robb) Dowdy of 58 years; and their children, Rudy (Debbra) Dowdy Jr, Tonya (Ed) Haley, Jared (Sherry) Dowdy; son-in-law Greg St.Clair; his sisters Barbara Dowdy, Sandra Williams, Pamela Jackson, Becky Smith and Beth Dowdy; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; Rudy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 54 years. He was a hard-working husband and father and retired from Daido Metals after 42 years of service. Rudy enjoyed gardening, trains, birdwatching, hunting, and target shooting. He was also a Boy Scout leader. Nearing the end of his life he loved watching his ever-growing family and spending time with his friends, he will be loved and missed always. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday May 10, 2018 at Jennings Farley and Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory 5591 US Route 68 S. West Liberty, OH 43357. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
