November 10, 1936 – September 15, 2021
Ronald "Ron" Emerson Coy, age 84, of Bellefontaine Ohio, died unexpectedly, but peacefully on Wed. Sept. 15, 2021 at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital.
Ron was born November 10, 1936 in Dayton, OH to the late Upton Emerson and Margaret (Pleasant) Coy. On October 17, 1958 in Dayton, OH he married the love of his life Roberta Elaine Frick, who survives.
Ron retired from Dayton Hardware and Supply after 47 years of dedicated work as "The" sales rep. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed reading his bible, jigsaw puzzles and sports of any kind; especially watching the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ron also enjoyed refinishing furniture and mechanic work. He was a wealth of knowledge to his family and a great teacher to his sons. Ron loved spending time with his family, especially their family get-togethers.
He was the loving husband of Roberta Elaine Coy for 63 years. Their enduring love has been an example to everyone that has been touched by their life together. Ron was a loving father of four sons, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by many but the memories of Ron will last for the rest of our lives.
He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Elaine Coy; sons, Jim (Tina) Coy of Morristown TN; Scott (Maria) Coy Marysville OH; Cris (Shelley) Coy Huntsville OH; Bruce (JoDee) Coy Liberty IN; grandchildren, Eric Coy, Brian Coy, Chelsea Coy, Anthony Coy, Lindsay Coy, Elizabeth (Dustin) Baumgardner, David (Jordy) Coy, Cortney Coy, Jamey Coy, Allen Coy, Cody Coy, Jessica (Jason) Voice, Joseph Dean, Brandie Dean and Danielle Davis; many great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Raymond (Sandy) Coy, Charlene (Bill) Snowden, Janet Hancock; several nieces and nephews; in-laws, Jim and Jean Frick, John Frick, William and Barbara Rueger, Bud and JoAnn Rueger.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan M. Coy; brother, Harold Coy; sisters, Sharon McCracken, Martha Knabe and Donna Guntle; brother In-Law, William Frick
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
