Phyllis J. Kauffman 91, of West Liberty passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born June 7, 1927 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the daughter of the late William H. and Fern Alice (Cole) Kennedy. Mrs. Kauffman was a retired bookkeeper from JC Penney's, and previously, Dee's Department Store. She married Wilbur Irvine "Joe" Kauffman June 14, 1950 and he preceded her in death March 7, 1990. She was also preceded by her two brothers Ernest and Bruce Kennedy. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and loved cats; giving a home to many strays over the years. Survivors include her son Jeff Kauffman; daughter Debra Lyn (Steve) Morris; grandchildren Chelsea M. Farmer and Claire E. Morris. Memorial services will be held 12 noon Thursday at Jennings Farley and Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory 5591 US Route 68 S. West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service. Burial will be private for family at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
