Penny Jo (Skeen) Bechtel, 60 of Bellefontaine passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her final moments were spent peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born August 11, 1963 and married the love of her life on September 1, 1984. She is survived by her husband Randy Bechtel; mother Betty Skeen-Hudson; three children Steven Bechtel, Joey (Kenzie) Bechtel and Sarah (Adam) Krinsky; two grandchildren Remi and Adelle; two brothers Donald Lee Clevenger and John Skeen; and many other extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Skeen.

A graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, Penny worked as a dental hygienist for over 25 years. She participated in multiple service trips with her colleagues to provide dental care to youth in Central America. Penny enjoyed baking wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends in her spare time. She was a member of St. Patrick's church and loved supporting her children.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Penny's many caretakers including family and friends who made it possible for Penny to remain at home.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial of ashes will take place in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
