Myron D Payne

Myron “Doc” Payne, born January 1, 1955, to the late Ora “Bus" Payne and Margaret (Eastman) Payne, passed away on May 24, 2026, in the same hospital where his journey began.

A Rushsylvania native and Vietnam Vet, Doc had countless stories from his travels. After the military he traveled the United States, for a time being a roadie for the Grassroots band, and even a white-water raft instructor in Colorado. A Jack of All trades he will fondly be remembered for his unmistakably loud laugh and signature leather hat.

His children will forever remember his sense of humor, his over peppered sausage gravy, and the way any of our friends quickly found themselves in a game of chess to see if they were worthy of sticking around.

He leaves behind his beloved Cat, and Power of Attorney, Lucky. Whom he loved more than most.

He is also survived by his children, Daughters, Miranda (Max) Reames, Megan Jones, Peggy Payne, and Riane (Kaden) Titus; & his Son, Ora (Cassie) Payne; also surviving are 18 grandchildren: Orianna Payne, Nollie Jones, Maverick Reames, Mackenzie Reames, Makayla Reames, Cayden Brown, Sonny Jones, Bronson Huffman, Willow Payne, Hazel Payne, Talia Stoltzfus, Nova Bell, Myron Payne, Ora Payne, Prudence Payne, Junie Bell, Maxon Reames, and Aurora Titus. He also leaves behind his very best friend, Dee. The word "friend" never seemed big enough to describe Dee. Her friendship, stories, laughs and miles they shared meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death my many loved ones, including his Nephew Eric Ball, who he considered a Son.

Myron would help anyone who would help themselves. His laugh was loud and his edges were rougher than most, but if he loved you, you knew it! He had a personality you didn't forget. He wasn't for everybody, and he didn't try to be. A man that was loud in spirit leaves behind a strange kind of quiet.

A final farewell party is TBD and will be announced ASAP
