Matthew Dean McClanahan of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:26am at The Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was 48 years old.

Born on September 24, 1970 in Findlay, Ohio, Matthew is the loving son of the late Thomas McClanahan. He is survived by his mother Paula McClanahan, his sister Kellie McClanahan Boone and her daughters Sara and Jessica. He is the devoted father of Molly and Vance McClanahan, the beloved step-father of Justin and Alyssa Brewer and Cody and Christina Townsend, and is adored by his grandchildren Caroline, Nathan, and Mason.

Matthew was a loving son, brother, father, step-father, grandfather, friend, and biker brother. He was a proud employee at Honda in East Liberty, OH for 28 years. Matthew is best known for his genuine honesty and compassion to those around him; whether it be family, friend, or random stranger he met. The generosity and compassion he showed to everyone he came into contact with will have a ripple effect for ages to come.

Matthew's family expresses their appreciation for everyone's kind and loving words. His family has expressed their desire for a private ceremony for Matt and in lieu of a viewing or funeral, there will be a Celebration of Life for Matthew September 14th that anyone who would like to celebrate his life may attend. There will also be a small private ceremony for family in the next few weeks.
