Matthew A. Cole Jr. 70 of Rushsylvania passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Matthew was born May 9, 1951 in Chicago, IL to the late Matthew A. and Ruth M. (Fry) Cole Sr. On February 6, 1971 in Chicago, IL he married the love of his life Roseanna L. Eagy.

Matthew liked to collect elephants, baseball cards and loved race cars. His true passion was work. He never missed a day in forty years that wasn't paid. Making sure his family was provided for made him the happiest. Most people saw him as a lion but his family seen him as a kitten. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife; Roseanna L. Cole; children, Matthew (Debbie) A. Cole III, Kimberly (Michael) A. Toomey, Tammy (Eric) L. Peterson and Jeanette (Greg) M. Wermund; grandchildren, Matthew A. Cole IV, Brennan P. Toomey, Crystal A. Toomey, Nicholas A. Montano-Cole and Ashley L. Cole; great grandchildren, Jacob A. Salazar, Sofia J. Salazar and Liam J. Montano; several other loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dylan P. Toomey; many other family members.

A private family service will take place at a later date.
