Mary Francis (Meade) Turner, 88, of Bellefontaine, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born October 2, 1933 in Loveland, Ohio, daughter of Steve Meade and Carrie (Erwin) Meade. Mary was an artist. She could see a finished work in a pile of materials. She was a pianist with the gift of playing by ear. She was an amazing seamstress, gardener, and cook. Her home reflected all her creativity, which she shared with all while hosting family reunions. Her family was her world. She was always available for a chat or heart to heart while serving freshly made pie.
Mary attended Huntsville schools and proudly earned her GED in 1983. She was a pianist, Sunday school teacher, and charter member of the Church of the Open Bible, which was built by her father, Steve Meade, and Clarence Means. She was a student of the Bible, much of which she memorized. She showed the love of God in everything she did and demonstrated exemplary Christian values, which guided her life.
Preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles Gilbert Turner, to whom she was married on November 26, 1948. Survived by her daughters Mary Suzanne (James) Johnson, Marta Kay (Jerry) Cline, Polly Jane (Steve) Smith; sons Charles Gilbert (Hsin) Turner II, Joseph Meade (Amy) Turner and Jonathan Clay (Aimée) Turner; grandchildren, James Robert (Sarah) Johnson, Shelsea Lea Johnson, Julia Lyn Johnson, Charles G. Turner III, Maya Carrie (Steven Wallace) Turner, Evan Lee Turner, Jordan Lee Cline, Whitni Christine (Tyler) Drewes, Abby Catherine (Zach Schell) Turner, Taylor Steven Smith, Brittany Hope (Josh) Panter and Jonathan Wyatt Turner; fourteen great-grandchildren, Aaron Losey, Ayanna, Aquavee, Agbeyenu, and Leemu Madison; Megan, Riley, and Owen Johnson; Haven and Dahlia Turner; Everly, Jackson, and Eila Drewes; and Adalaide Panter. Other survivors include a wonderful family friend, Alison Luhn (known as the "good daughter"), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary is also survived by her brother Steven Douglas (Barbara) Meade. She was preceded in death by her sisters Virginia Meade and Pauline Foulk Taylor, and brothers Malcolm Meade and Donald Meade, and a great-grandson Fitzgerald Mark Drewes.
Mary's brother Steven Douglas Meade and Pastor Michael Knibbs, will officiate the Funeral service at 10:30 am Saturday, July 9th at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 US Rt 68 South, West Liberty, Ohio. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, July 8th. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
