Mark 'Moose' Thompson, 64, of Huntsville, Ohio passed away on October 19, 2024 at his Indian Lake home with his wife by his side after a three-year battle with lung and brain cancer.

He was born on March 15, 1960, son to Eldon and Charlotte Thompson.

Mark was a 1978 graduate from West Jefferson High School and helped lead the Roughriders to a state victory in 1976, a moment that he would fondly talk about every chance he had.

Mark met his wife Kim in high school where they remained friends until they wed in 1990 and welcomed their daughter Rachael. He loved any time spent with his family and was a proud husband, father, and grandfather.

Mark loved music, dancing, and hosting pool parties. Many would joke about how clean he kept his homes and his perfect sweeper lines on the carpet.

Most of his career he was employed at the Ohio Correctional Reception Center as a correctional officer in Orient, Ohio. This led the family to move to Commercial Point in 1998 where Mark continued to make a friend in everyone that he met.

In 2014, after retirement, Mark decided he wanted to fulfill his dream of living at Indian Lake. The lake had always been a special place where he enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and going to Acheson's with his wife, daughter, and friends.

May we always remember Mark for his larger-than-life personality, love for the Rolling Stones, his smile and infectious laugh. He will be dearly missed by all the knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on November 2, 2024, from 2pm – 4pm at Fion Wine Room located at 7486 OH-117, Huntsville, OH 43324.
