Marena Kay Latimer, age 73, passed away peacefully July 31, 2019 surrounded by her children. She was born February 25, 1946 to Robert and Martha Lingrel. She was an only child and grew up on their farm in Mt. Victory, OH. She was married to John Strapp for 25 years and had five children, Emily (Jeff) Eckstein, Jeremy (Jennifer) Strapp, Sarah (Robert) Johnson, Jonah (Ginger) Strapp, and Mary (Stewart) Carpenter. She later married Ed Latimer who preceded her in death in 2018

Marena graduated from Ridgemont High School in 1964. She attended Ohio Northern University before working at ITE. While raising her five children, she loved owning and working at the Ice Cream Parlor for 20 years. She enjoyed meeting new people and going out to eat with friends. She was a caregiver by nature and took wonderful care of her parents and husband. Marena gave the biggest hugs and never met a stranger.

Marena's pride and joy are her 21 grandchildren; Jonathan, Kevin, Brenden, Connor, and Ruth Eckstein, Amanda and Ryan Strapp, Megan, Riley, and Owen Johnson, Kelby, Hallie, Camden, Whitney, Sammy, Paisley, Presley, and Paxley Strapp, Graham, Nolan, and Aubrey Carpenter.

Please join us to celebrate Marena's life at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home , 5591 US 68 S. , West Liberty, OH 43357. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6 from 4:00-7:00. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 7 at 10:30 followed by burial at Hale Cemetery, Mt. Victory, OH.
