Larry Lee Lance passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 10:42 p.m.,
surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on February 9, 1947, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Gahlen and Kelleen
(Gault) Lance.
On December 18, 1982, he married the love of his life, Norma Louise (Jenny) Lance
and she survives. He Is also survived by his three sons:
Braden Craig (Mandy) Lance, Gregory Lowell (Kathleen) Lance, and Christopher Lynn
(Elizabeth) Lance; three grandchildren, Alexis (Cody) Castle, Nicholas Lance, and
Mykenzie Lance; and one great-grandchild, Garrett Mathew Castle. Also surviving
his sister, Caroll (Pete) Heisler, and their sons, Matt
and Adam, as well as his brother, Dennis (Barb) Lance, and their children, Brody
(Kristen) and Kate (Ryan). He was preceded in death by his son Travis Brian Lance.
Larry loved his country and joined the U.S. Navy in August 1966. He served on the USS
America during the Vietnam War as a Boilerman. Later in life, he was deeply committed
to support veterans, working at the local Veterans office alongside Shelly and Amy,
whom he loved and we all consider to be family.
He joined the Freemasons and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on
May 2, 1973, at Mad River Lodge #161. He continued serving in other Masonic
bodies throughout the remainder of his life.
He devoted much of his time to serving others as a volunteer EMT and instructor for
several organizations, including West Liberty EMS, the Red Cross, the American Heart
Association, and Mended Hearts. He was also a proud member of the VFW and
American Legion.
Larry loved those around him, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved
helping his community and was constantly looking for ways to raise funds for those in
need. He attended the West Liberty United Methodist Church. His pastor, Rod Brower,
will be leading his Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM Tuesday October 28, 2025, at Jennings
Farley & Seeley 5591 US Highway 68 South West Liberty, Ohio 43357
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the
Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors.
