Kathleen R. "Kit" Seeley

Kathleen R. (Park) Seeley, lovingly known as "Kit" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026. Her life was defined by her steadfast faith in God, deep devotion to her family, and lifelong commitment to serving others and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kit was born on November 26, 1953, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late James K. and Clorinda Jean (Miller) Park and grew up in rural Logan County. During her school years, she enjoyed participating in choir and performing in the school production of Oklahoma! She graduated from Indian Lake High School in 1971.

God was the center of Kit's life. As a member of the Church of God at Mt. Tabor, she faithfully taught Sunday School, helped establish an annual Bible School, led the children’s choir, and sang in a trio with dear friends, sharing songs that reflected their love for Christ. She also used her gifts for writing and publishing church materials to encourage others and for the furtherance of the gospel.

Together with her husband, Kit supported missionary work and lived with her family in Malawi, Africa, for 8 years where they served both local congregations and neighboring countries. During that time, she helped adapt songs into the local language and taught Bible classes at a remote high school. Throughout her life, she demonstrated extraordinary generosity by opening her home to those in need and providing food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and spiritual encouragement. She and her family also welcomed a young boy Saul, into their home whom she later adopted, providing him with the love, care, and opportunities needed for a bright future.

A lifelong learner, Kit had a deep love for history. This passion led her to research and publish the nonfiction book The Star-Spangled Banner: Its Preparation, Purpose, and Preservation. Even as her health declined in later years, she continued to serve others through faithful prayer for family members, friends, and those facing hardships.

Kit is survived by her six children: Mark (Maria) Seeley, Matthew (Lori) Seeley, John (Rebecca) Seeley, Maria (Chris) Lyle, Saul Seeley, and Larissa Seeley; one brother, Alfred (Diane) Park and two sisters, Miriam (Jarry) Persinger and Ruth Everman. She also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends whose lives were enriched by her faith, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering principles.

Kit was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Palmer and brother John Park.

Kit's life was a testimony of the enduring power of faith expressed through love, sacrifice, and obedience to God. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the people she served, and the many lives she inspired to walk with the Lord.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Betty Hall and Diana Wango for their care and support in Mom’s last year and hospice for their love, laughter, conversation and attention.
