A strong, devoted, and compassionate woman whom loved her family fiercely and unconditionally has
been called to be with the Lord in Heaven. Karen (Wood) Oder, 69, of West Liberty, Ohio, has passed on
3/18/2024.

Karen was born in Sidney Ohio in 1954 to and preceded in death by parents Carl and Ava Wood, whom
she loved dearly and missed immensely. She often spoke of their unconditional love and passion for
their family. They did not measure wealth by what was on their bank statement but instead by time
spent together, conversations had, Sunday afternoon dinners, and playing a simple game of cards.
Karen attended Riverside Schools before studying Business Admin at Edison State University, going to
work at Green Hills where she started as a front office secretary and worked her way to the Director of
Assisted Living. Karen spent over 40 years at Green Hills before retiring in 2019. She was dearly loved
and valued highly by all Green Hills Staff, Employees, and Residents alike. Her favorite part of this job
was her daily interactions with her residents.
Karen is survived by her brother Jr Wood, children Brad Oder (Ryin Oder) and Todd Oder (Jess Oder), by
her Grandchildren Brennan, Blayne, Reese, Ava, and Callen Oder, and by her Great Grandchild Greyson
Oder. She was the glue that kept our family so close to one another, she was our rock during difficult
times. She instilled all the same values into us that she was given by her parents over the years. She is
dearly missed and her lessons will never be forgotten.

Our family is having a private Celebration of Life service as she wanted in the coming days. Please pray
for us as we learn to live this life without her.
