Jack G. Tinsley 83 of Kettering passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at
Glenwood Alzheimer's Special Care Unit in Dublin, OH.
Jack was born September 24, 1934 in Dayton, OH to the late William F. and
Mildred Strather Tinsley Sr. He was blessed to be married to Barbara J. Pickering for 60 years. She preceded him in death on March 21st, 2017.
Jack served in the Air Force for 12 years, and was stationed at the Bellefontaine Air Base for a short period, where he met his wife Barbara. He then went into Civil Service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a computer programmer and systems analyst until he retired in 1987, after 21 years. Jack graduated from Stivers High School in Dayton, where he excelled in Basketball. He was one of the early inductees into Stivers Athletic Hall of Fame, in 2007, An honor he was very proud of. He was also a member of Stivers National Honor Society. Jack loved to play golf and was very interested in cross country running. He supported his son, Ronnie and niece Brittany Tinsley-Moldovan during their high school cross country careers.
Jack is survived by his siblings, Bill (Susan) Tinsley, Debra (Rick)
Miller, Art (Mindy) Schroeder, Karen "Kitty" (Dan) Mayor,
Carole Spring; many nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceeded in death by his wife; his parents, step-mother Alice Tinsley, a son Ronald L. Tinsley; granddaughter, Dawn Tinsley; brother, Charles Tinsley; sister, Joanne Withrow, niece Barbara Spring-Littlefield, nephew Jim Miller, brother-in-law Leonard Spring.
A Memorial Service will be held F
riday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at
Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory.

An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service.
