Ivan C. Wilgus, 83 of Walnut Grove passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Green Hills Community.
Ivan was born October 2, 1936 in Logan County to the late Elbie and Evelyn (Jones) Wilgus. On June 30, 1990 in Bellefontaine he married Cheryl D. LeVan.
Ivan attended the Rushsylvania Rockets School in his earlier years. He grew up loving his family horses and racing at the Logan county fair. The Logan county fair became an enjoyment throughout his life looking forward to it every year. Ivan worked with his father and brothers at Elbie Wilgus and Sons Impliment for many years and selling Oliver tractors. He was also a firefighter with the Rush Creek Township Fire Department for 46 years. Ivan enjoyed gardening, cutting wood, making clocks and picture frames. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He showed his love to them by teasing them relentlessly. Ivan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Cheryl D. Wilgus; children, Tammy (Jeff) Saylor, Kimberly Wilgus, Kevin Wilgus, Shelley (Victor) Bond and Jerry Snapp; grandchildren, Beth (Michael) Stachler, Chastity (Dean) Morris, Erica (David) Morris, Bo (Ericka Woodrum) Wilgus, Curtis (Marianne) Wilgus, Mindy Wilgus, Brady Bond, Tyler Bond and Jenna Parker; great grandchildren, Cade Stachler, Keaton Stachler, Corbin Stachler, Aubrie Morris, Wesley Morris, Skyla Wilgus, Sarah Morris, Christopher Morris, Kade Thomas, Hunter Wilgus, Drake Wilgus, Jax Wilgus, Iliy Ray, Dixie Ray and Ryder Wilgus; siblings, Ruth Zupp, Genny (Ed Herring) Funk, Cricket Wical, Short (Rusty) Quay; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Charles (Trish Wilson) Rader.
Ivan is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Wilgus; sister, Reita Rader; daughter-in-law, Liz Parker.
A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
