Harold "Wayne" Casey, 74, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday March 28 th , Ohio State University Hospital surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born October 7, 1947 in Bellefontaine to the late, Harold W. Casey and, Pauline (Purkey) Casey Young. He married is wife Janet Frias Casey on October 18, 1969 at St. Patrick's Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dave Casey and sister-in-law Cheryl Casey, sister Nikki Alloway and brother-in-law Larry Alloway, brother-in-law Jim Schultz, sister-in-law Mary Robbins and brother-in-law Richard Robbins.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Janet, children Mindee (Zach) Mulharan, Meghan (Daniel) Ashcraft, Michelle (Clint) Zedeker, grandchildren Declan and Sullivan Ashcraft, Brady Mulharan, and Quinlan Casey; sister Toni (Larry) Boyd, Sue Schultz, Don (Bonnie) Casey, Sherry (John) Kaylor, Doug (Chris) Casey; sister-in-law Roxan Casey, Cindy (Matt) Dillon; brother-in-law Dan (Deb) Frias, and sister-in-law Robin Katzmyr; many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
Wayne was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in Korea.
In 1966 Wayne became the first employee of Culligan Water Conditioning in Bellefontaine. He then worked laying flooring for Magic Carpet, Notestine's and Factory Direct for many years. For the last 10 years he worked with his 2 nd family, Easton Water Solutions, where he enjoyed working in "Wayne's World", and alongside his extended family.
He loved going to car shows with his '59 Chevy Impala, his oldies but goodies music, drag racing, and golfing with his many friends. He loved watching his Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Wayne's true loves were his wife, children and grandchildren, along with his dogs. He spent many days, evenings, weekends watching his kids and grandchildren play sports, including trips to Florida. He was known for his quick wit, playful sense of humor, work ethic, and tough love. He wanted nothing more than to take care of his family. His "girls" looked up to him and loved him to the end.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday April 8 th, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Jennings, Farley, & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory 5591 US Route 68 S.
