IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Lee
Harman
July 10, 1949 – March 30, 2021
Gary Lee Harman, 71 of Bellefontaine passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Campbell Place.
Gary was born July 10, 1949 in Bellefontaine to the late Lloyd O. and Hilda Jean (Neer) Harman.
Gary graduated from Bellefontaine High School, class of 1967. He later served his country honorably for three years in the United States Army, a Green Beret during the Vietnam War. On September 10, 1978, after his time in the service, Gary suffered a horrific automobile accident resulting in life changing injuries and over 40 years of recovery. Experiencing many challenges that Gary fought and had to overcome, learning to walk again was one of his greatest victories. Gary was so determined to walk again that he wore a path in the carpet, walking back and forth, relearning his steps. He had a favorite t-shirt with a motivational saying "Can't Never Tried" that pushed him to his success. On April 3, 1993 he married Jenny Keeran, having a loving marriage of 22 years that unfortunately had to end. The couple throughout the years still cared very deeply for one another and visited each other when they could. Gary was a member of Harrison Grange, Logan County Farm Bureau and Bellefontaine Friends Church. He liked walking, working out in the weight room and old cars. Gary loved going to Bellefontaine basketball and football games. He also loved watching Ohio State basketball and football games. Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Chuck Harman; nephews, Mike (Tracy) Harman of Orlando, FL and Jordan Harman of Bellefontaine; great nieces, Taylor and Ashtyn; loving ex-wife, Jenny Harman; aunt Arlene Bechtel; many loving friends
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Harman.
A Gazebo Service will be held Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery Gazebo. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service. The family is in the care of Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory.
