Gary L. Boop, 71 of Huntsville passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Bell Springs Nursing and Rehab.

Gary was born April 7, 1950 in Lima to the late Billy D. and Phyllis (Howell) Boop.

Gary owned and operated the Villa Motel in Lakeview, a business that had been in the family for over 150 years. He was a hardworking man spending countless hours in the yard. At times Gary would have to be told it was time to end today's work and come inside or he never would have stopped working on the task at hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at family meals. Anyone who knew Gary knew he loved to talk, he was given the gift of gab and he never knew a stranger. He could make anyone laugh and smile, no matter how their day was going. Gary loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was grateful for every day he was given to serve him.  He also enjoyed going to church and playing in the church band. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Gary L. (Jessie) Boop II; grandchildren, Reta (Karissa Pahukoa) Boop, Zachary (Desiree) Gonterman, Billie (Seth Epps) Boop, Jake (Katelyn) Houchin and Lance (Aubrey) Houchin; great grandchildren, Judith K. Epps, Jaxtyn Houchin, Raelyn and Jordyn Hoge, Waylen Gonterman, Marie Houchin and River Boop.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith K. Boop.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service.
