Florence M. (Smith) Leininger 95, formerly Lakeview, passed away Sunday Oct 22, 2017 at Homestead at the Logan Acres Community, 2745 Co. Rd. 91, Bellefontaine, OH, where she made her home for the last 3 years.
She was the daughter of the late Ora S. Smith and Bessie L. (Moore) Smith. She was born April 5, 1922 in Columbus, OH. On November 9, 1940 she married Everett W. Leininger. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She is survived by her children, David (Sue) Leininger, Barbara (Joe) Cramer both of Russells Point and Susan (Susie) Deckling of Lakeview; grandchildren, Andrew (Sarinda) Leininger of Willow Spring, NC, Luanne Leininger of Bellefontaine, Scott (Deb) Cramer of Lakeview, Jodie (Ben) McLaughlin of Springfield, Mike (Sherry) Stettler of Lakeview and Shawn (Bridget) Stettler of Anna; 10 great grandchildren, Edward, Eric, Alex, Chelsea, Sarah, Rachel, Tyler, Toby, Dillon and Jena; great great grandson, A.J.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Dorothy M. Smith Powers Dickson; a nephew Richard Powers; a son-in-law, Richard Deckling; Seven brother-in-laws; four sister-in-laws; surviving is a nephew Robert (Helen) Powers of Lakeview; niece Letty Powers of Huntsville; a sister-in-law, Blanche Leininger, 105 years old, also a resident of the Homestead.
She and Everett spent most of their winters in Texas after retirement. Florence enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing circle word books and playing Bingo at the Homestead. She was a member of Bellefontaine Chapter # 459 OES. Her father and grandfather were the original owners of the Smith Moore Hardware in Lakeview.
A graveside services will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the graveside service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Homestead or Universal Home Health and Hospice of Bellefontaine.
