Evelyn Joan Vance, 76 of Bellefontaine passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Greenhills Community. Evelyn was born February 1, 1941 in Bellefontaine, Oh to the late Joseph and Florence (Boone) Horn. On March 7, 1975 she married William M. Vance and they were happily married for 42 years. Evelyn retired from Siemens in 1996 after 25 years of service, and worked at Cherokee Hills Golf Course for 11 years. During her working years she enjoyed vacations in the south among the mountains and caves, and going to Cincinnati Reds games at Riverfront Stadium. Evelyn liked to bowl and golf, and had three holes-in-one (one at Liberty and two at Cherokee Hills). As everyone who knew her knows, she also loved collecting watches. Evelyn is survived by her husband; daughter, Kimberly Joe Hill; son, Steven Mitchell (Deborah Ann) Vance. Evelyn is preceeded in death by her parents. Services will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
