Ernest W. Bailey 80 of Bellefontaine passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Ernest was born May 12, 1938 in Nicholas County, KY to the late Ambrose Forest "Doc" and Ida May (Ockerman) Bailey.

Ernest proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over three years. After his service he enjoyed building and racing cars, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ernest is survived by his children, David A. Bailey and Sue (James) Jackson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Albert (Freeda) Bailey, David (Deloris) Bailey, Carl (Sherill) Bailey and Maggie (Billy) Jenkins; Many nieces and nephews.

Ernest is preceeded in death by his parents; siblings, Homer "Pete" Bailey, Clyde Douglas Bailey, Marsh "Cotton" Bailey, Richard "Tommy" Bailey, Bruce Bailey, Vivian "Sudie" Morrell and Mildred "Midge" Hedger.

A Celebration of life will take place Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. up to the time of the service. Military honors will take place following the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan County Cancer Society in honor of Ernest.
