IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edwin E.
"Ed" Orahood Jr.
November 22, 1950 – October 26, 2023
Edwin E. "Ed" Orahood Jr., 72 of Bellefontaine passed away suddenly Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his residence.
Ed was born November 22, 1950 in Bellefontaine to the late Edwin E. and Alberta Lucille (Creviston) Orahood Sr. On June 17, 1972 in Bellefontaine he married the love of his life Christina J. Daniels, who preceded him in death.
Ed was a United States veteran who honorably served three years in the Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He reached the rank of SP4 and earned his sharpshooter medal. Ed retired from Honda after 28 years of dedicated work. He enjoyed family time, golf cart rides with his wife Chris and friends, cooking on the grill for his family and he enjoyed his yard work. Ed was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. He was always cracking jokes and had a smile like Santa with his rosy red checks. Ed loved to mushroom hunt, dance (happy feet) and his loud rock n Roll music. But his true love in life was his family. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed their time together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to get to know him.
He is survived by his children, Edwin E. "Ikey" Orahood III and Jessica (Shawn) Akers; grandchildren, Bayley Orahood, Tristen Orahood, Doby Orahood, Ethan Akers and Ashlyn Akers; siblings, Michael Lee (Betty) Orahood, Rick E. (Amy Wilcox) Orahood, Becky Orahood, Veronica Zimmerman, Tina (Chuck) Close, Tonya Pohlman, Nancy (Mike) Predmore, and Melody Bernero; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law's, Rick Close and John Hancock; Best friend, Larry Pool.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Christina J. Orahood; his parents; siblings, Barbara Ballou, Carolyn Hancock, Kimberly Close and Monica Wright; brother-in-law's, John Zimmerman, Anthony Pohlman, Alex Bernero, Steve Ballou and Sherman Wright.
