Donald E. Hone 82, of Zanesfield, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday August 18, 2020 at Mary Rutan Hospital.  He was born March 27, 1938 in Bellefontaine, Ohio; the son of Walter and Juanita (Herford) Hone. Donald was retired from the US Postal Service with 20 years of service.  He also served in the US Army from 1961 until 1963.  He was an active member of Goshen Friends Church, and was an active member of the Mad River Dulcimer Society.  Donald also served as a Hospice Volunteer for several years.  Survivors include his mother; daughter Deena O'Reilly; son Don (Rhonda Adams) Hone; grandchildren Heather Merriman, Anne Young, Kaley Crawford, Jackson Cottingham; several great grandchildren; special friend Connie Stover.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Dixie Hone and second wife Barbara Searle; granddaughter Sara Hone. He was also preceded by his brother Ronald Hone; sisters Jean Green and Bonnie Ward.  Pastor Wayne Downing will officiate a funeral service 1:00 pm Monday August  24, at the Goshen Friends Church 5527 County Rd 153 Zanesfield, Ohio 43360.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service.  In Lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Goshen Friends Church. Arrangements are in the care of Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory.
