Clara Dee Schertzer 91, of Bellefontaine passed away Sunday October 31, 2021 at Ayden Belle Springs Care Center.  She was born July 25, 1930 in Harrod, Ohio, the daughter of Jack & Esther (Smith) Neal.  Dee retired from DAB after 30 years of service.  She also owned and worked at a restaurant diner in Summerville, Ohio as well as West Mansfield, Ohio. Dee enjoyed her family and her home life, she also enjoyed traveling and playing cards.  She was an AVID Ohio State Buckeye Football & Basketball fan. On game day, she would be dressed in her favorite buckeye shirt, her buckeye necklace and drinking from her buckeye cup cheering them on.  Survivors include her children Kathy (Duane) Thieme, James (Marilyn) Schertzer; grandchildren include Jennifer (Mike) Brown, Todd (Heidi) Thieme, Deanna Elliott and Lisa Schertzer; seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her grandson Andrew Schertzer.   A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory 5591 US Rt 68 S. West Liberty, Ohio 43357.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service.  Attendees are welcome to wear any OSU apparel in memory of Dee.
