Charles W. Kline 83 of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday, October 24 th , 2020 at Belle Springs Nursing and Rehab.
He was born In Hardin County Ohio on October 24, 1937 to the late Daniel E. and Vera (Plummer) Kline. Charlie is survived by his wife Jane Lenhart Kline who he married on August 27, 1961.
Charlie is also survived by his children Scott (Gina) Kline, Shelly (Rick) Chambers of Bellefontaine. Four grandchildren Sean (Gabi) Kline, Brandon Kline and Tuff Varian, Nicole Chambers, Seth (Nikki) Chambers and great grandchildren Brielle Kline, Jaxon Chambers, Camila Kline, Zuri Kline and Kenzie Chambers. He is also survived by sisters, Carol Hale and Marcille Price,
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Gordon Kline on August 29, 2020.
Charlie graduated in 1955 from West Mansfield High School, and in 1959 he graduated from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. He taught High School at Bellefontaine and retired in 1988. In his life time he worked at many places TRC, Wal Mart, and retired from AGC in 2001. He was an avid bowler for many years and was a member of the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine Bowling Hall of Fame, and the Lima Bowling Hall of Fame. He helped coach high school bowling for 8 years. He played golf for many years on Monday and Thursday with Mike Morris, Mark Barlow, and Nate Weber. He also played with his wife, sister-in-law Bev and brother-in-law Dwight Watkins every Friday and Saturday for over 25 years. He was a member of the Elks and the Moose Lodge. He loved planning family vacations to Hocking Hills, South Carolina, Cedar Point, Kings Island and he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and band, and he loved bragging about his family. He enjoyed having Sunday family meals for 39 years. Charlie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Charlie lost his fight to Lewy Body Dementia, and so that other families might have answers his brain was donated to the University of Maryland Brain and Tissue Bank for research.
A Funeral Service will take place Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery following the service. For the Funeral Services the family is requesting that if you wish to attend and are feeling ill to please stay home and attend the service via Live Stream. The family is also requesting that all who are going to attend to please wear a mask.
