Charles Roland Fortner, 68 passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Kettering Medical Center.

Charles was born September 17, 1953 in Marion to the late Charles Roland and Janet Laureen (Hall) Fortner Sr. On January 30, 1977 in Springfield he married Beth E. Maley, who preceded him in death.

Charles retired from Honda in 2010. He enjoyed the outdoors and all makes of remote control vehicles. Charles had completed several projects throughout his life doing all of his work by hand. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved and cared for his family and they were the greatest joy in his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Charles is survived by his; children, Jamie L. (Jeremy) Sassen and Chris (Ashley) Fortner; grandchildren, Savanah Willis, Gabe Fortner, Trinity Sassen, Tristan Sassen, Matthew Fortner; great grandchild, Astrid Willis and Ingrid Willis; many nieces and nephews;

Charles is preceded in death by his wife; sister, Rebecca Workman. The family is in the care of Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory.
