Brian Malcolm Geboy, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, July 19, 2024 in his home surrounded by family.
Brian was born August 7, 1938 in Detroit, MI to the late Frank and Willa Mae (Rose) Geboy. On May 14, 1960 in Berne, IN he married the love of his life Ernestine "Tina" McBrien, who survives. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage and raised a beautiful family. He is also survived by his daughters, Jann McBrien and Beth (Steve) Moore; grandchildren, Katy Hill, Amie (Daryl) Lotz, Chelsea (John) Moser, Kyle (Mackenzie) Moore; great grandchildren, Bailee Lotz, Hayden Cox, Chloee Lotz and Reyna Moore; siblings, Donna Muth, Sharon (Robert) Holderman, Linda (Ronald) Elliott, Rita Skidmore, Ramon (Donna) Geboy and Alan Geboy; many nieces and nephews. Close family friend, Shawn Cox.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl and Norman Geboy; sister, Janice (Darrel) Dear; brother-in-law's, Raymond Muth and Clifford Skidmore.
Brian was an affectionate, dedicated and hardworking individual who always puts the need of others ahead of his own. He was a faithful member of the First Christian Church as a Deacon and Trustee for many years. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of comfort to whomever needed it. Brian graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1956. After Graduating he enlisted in the United States Army where he served honorably for three years. He received the prestigious award of Kiwanian of the year in 2009-2010. He also served on the Lake Township Zoning Board. Brian was a Standard Oil Dealer (SOHIO) and retired from Bellefontaine Park and Recreation Department. In his free time he loved restoring classic cars, wood working and was an avid coin collector. Brian's Favorite past time was cheering on his great grandchildren at their sporting events. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends and all those who were honored to have the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around him with his kind heartedness, generosity and unforgettable spirit.
A Funeral Service will take place Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home. Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The First Christian Church of Bellefontaine, 215 E. Sandusky Ave. Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
