Beth Fortner, 61 of Middleburg passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Grant Medical Hospital.

Beth was born November 15, 1958 in Springfield to the late Roger A. and Ann L. (Haulman) Maley. On January 30, 1977 in Springfield she married Charles R. Fortner Jr., who survives.

Beth enjoyed shopping and collecting several unique items, mainly Longaberger baskets. She love to cook, sew, gardening and spending time with her family. Beth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and she will be deeply missed.

Beth is survived by her husband; children, Jamie L. (Jeremy) Sassen and Chris (Ashley) Fortner; Savanah Willis, Gabe Fortner, Trinity Sassen, Tristan Sassen, Matthew Fortner; great grandchild, Astrid Willis; siblings, Lynn Pope, Phil (Bonnie) Maley and Jeff (Angie) Maley; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Rebecca Workman.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents; many other loving family members.

A private family burial will take place at a later date. The family is in the care of Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory.
